Incompetence!

Hi, I have just destroyed my car by driving over a metal cover sticking out of the road where they have been aying some electrical cables for the street lights.

My car is a show car that was built to shine. Fat chance now the way it looks!!!

I was driving up the road and noticed the keep right sign and cones and therefore kept right and BANG!!! I had driven straight over the metal sheet covering the 6" deep hole!!

I immediately got out and moved the cones around the danger area to stop any other traffic hitting it! (now I think about it I may have been stupid to do this but I have 3 witnesses to confirm this, one of which who also 5 mins earlier had done the same)

I am so angry, I feel like taking them for everything!!! The major problem is the fact that I'm in the process of selling my car and have someone coming to view it this weekend.

-The car is destroyed
-I can't drive it as the wheel is buckled, tyre is flat, bumper is hanging off amongst other things I haven't had a chance to notice yet

PLUS

-It has destroyed my chances of selling the car any time soon which is a problem as I need the money!!!

I have called the police and have an incident number and I will be calling the council first thing in the morning.

I really need advice so I can pursue a successful claim as I do not have the money to repair the car! I need my car on a daily basis for my job. My job requires me to be mobile as I am in sales and given the state of the car this is not going to be the case.
